Shaking The Winter From The Home!

You know what's it like. Those January blues set in and you're already tired of winter, going south isn't an option at this moment, and you're ready to scream "I want Spring"!
Well yesterday I went to the dollar store and bought these lovely green balls and decided I needed to  bring spring in!
So here is what I did, so far! Not finished as I'm only just beginning!! I just placed them on top of some candle holders I have and voila! Looks nice eh!
So that got me thinking about other "green" ideas we can do to make the home feel fresh and alive. Personally, I don't really have a lot of "real" flowers/plants in my home. I am a gardener but I leave the real stuff for outdoors! Inside I use fake plants! Sad eh? But I just find I move things around so much I just can't commit to one look for very long and everything has to be interchangeable.
Anyway, here's pictures I hope will inspire you!!

I am soooo ready for Spring!! I think these changes will make the dullness of winter a whole lot better!!

Feeling Inspired!

I have to admit I could spend hours, literally hours, visiting some of my favorite bloggers! There are so many talented bloggers out there, that I can't but be inspired by what they have to say, what they share, and what inspires them.

So I can't help myself when I find items I want to share too.  These are not my own pictures for sure. These are from those famous bloggers (and everyone knows who they are because as they are very very popular) and full credit goes to them!

Here is what inspired me today!!

Enjoy the day!

Radiant Orchid Pantone's 2014 Color of the Year!

I am much too conservative for this color! In fact I would consider myself then to be quite boring. Perhaps if I was a young girl, fashioning myself after the latest trends this color might, (slim might) have been an option.

But keeping an open mind I did come across a few pictures that made the color a little less like vegas and a little more urban acceptable, whatever that means...just made that up!

Anyway, have a peek, let me know what you think!!

I like this room!!

And I would have to be a young teen to go for this, don't you think!! It's cool so colol, but can you imagine if you changed your mind?

But I think overall, I'd rather...to be seen eating it!

Or drinking it!!

And basking in the aroma of it all!!

Or seeing it as an accent at a wedding!

But I could never imagine any of these!

This color is extradorinary in small doses, or perhaps to add a bit of whimsy and fun to a room.

I cannnot imagine how one chooses the next color of the year. Perhaps this is the genius of Marketing because everyone will talk about this color, but I doubt that Pantone will sell a lot of it!

Just saying!

An Honest Reflection!

I cry at Christmas time. I always have. It's not because I'm particularly sad, it's more because I feel so much at this time of year. I really do! It's an overwhleming condition of unconditonal love that I have towards mankind! I can't help myself.

Maybe it's the eggnog!

But regardless, it's a time to reflect, a time to make amends, a time to forgive, and if anythig a time to love!

My wish  is this wish.

Decking The Halls!

Finally, I got it right! I've been struggling this Christmas with last year's decorations. Before the renovations I had a lot of grey in my home, and because I loved the color of robin's egg blues and more intense colors like teal, many of my Christmas decoration had those colors. And they were beautiful, for that color scheme!

But this year I went for a color pallet of soft browns. I found the greys too cold, and wanted to warm things up! So last years decorations just didn't work! So I threw caution to the wind and started all over again yup, that's right Saturday the Christmas decorations came down and I removed every ounce of blue in the house and replaced it with a more neutral pallet!
And here is what it looks like now!

Notice the candle burning on the garland!

We lit the candles on the tree last night! So so pretty! And just simply, magical!
And while out shopping for new Christmas decorations I found this lovely mirror to replace the terrible one I had in the foyer!

I just love it!!

Sometimes you just got to start all over again regardless of how much work is involved or just how crazy it might be to tear everything down. I am so glad I took the risk, invested in the new look because nothing disturbs me more when your trying to work with a color that just doesn't work anymore!!

Now what to do with last years decorations?

Happy Holidays!!
